NesteQ FanMax 8-channel fan controller review

If you're looking to build a truly high-end system for yourself, then beyond more obvious considerations such as CPU cooling, you'll also want to think about airflow within the actual system chassis itself to optimise system temperatures, particularly if you're serious about overclocking.  If you really want to go all out along these lines, then that could well mean employing quite a few fans, which in itself can lead to a few issues - For starters, not all motherboards are equipped with a sufficiently large number of fan headers to suit your requirements, and of course the more fans you employ the more noise can become an issue if you're also looking for a PC that can run quietly when you need it to.

The obvious answer to both of these problems is to make use of a dedicated fan controller, and today we'll be taking a look at just such a unit from German manufacturer NesteQ.  With support for a large number of fans, each of which can have its speed individually dialled up or down to suit your needs amongst other things, it promises to be an ideal controller unit for someone looking to employ lots of cooling within their chassis.  But does that promise bear fruit in reality?  Let's jump straight in and take a look at what NesteQ's FanMax controller brings to the table.
