Batman: Arkham Asylum - PC review, performance and PhysX evaluation
It seems that pretty much anything with the Batman name attached to it is guaranteed critical acclaim these days - Of course, the reboot of the character via a pair of Hollywood movies began the rebirth of Batman as a credible franchise once again, and the plaudits afforded those films has now moved on to Batman as a video game, with Arkham Asylum being hailed as a game of the year contender, if not more.
But is this game really that good, and more importantly how does the PC version of the game fare and handle itself? That's exactly what we're here to find out - Not only will we be reviewing the game itself, but we'll also be exploring the performance of the title's (Unreal Engine 3-based) graphical performance, with an eye on the addition of NVIDIA's PhysX physics capabilities to see what it has to offer and how it affects performance when rendering physics on both the GPU and CPU.
So, is Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PC best left in its strait jacket in the nearest padded cell, or would you be a lunatic not to pick up this title for yourself? To the... err.... bat review cave!
