If your Friday is proving to be a little boring, how's this for something to spice things up, courtesy of a trio of images that have just turned up in our mailbox.  The images in question purport to show ASUS' forthcoming MARS II graphics board, and they're extremely interesting to say the least.

As you can probable see from these shots, the MARS II is shaping up to be one of (if not the) first graphics boards to offer up the horsepower of two GF100 GPUs on a single card, linked together via an NF200 bridge chip and requiring what appears to be three six-pin PCI Express power connectors.  There are no further details of specifications (be they clock speeds or how many functional units those two GF100 chips contain, although the presence of six memory modules for each GPU suggests two GeForce GTX 480 class chips to me), but either way it's an intriguing glimpse of something that many assumed would simply never appear, although of course you might need to take out a second mortgage to be able to actually buy one...
