It isn't just the movie-makers and musicians who get to enjoy flashy award ceremonies these days - Video game creators get to enjoy a little of the limelight too, courtesy of the annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts Video Games Awards. So, who were the winners at the 2010 awards ceremony?
The British Academy of Film and Television Arts held their annual video game awards ceremony last night, and surprise! Uncharted 2: Among Thieves did not take the Best Game award at the end of the night. While Naughty Dog's action game has racked up a slew of Game of the Year awards, BAFTA instead gave their top honor to Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Oddly enough, though, Uncharted 2 did still win Best Action Game -- which Arkham Asylum was also nominated in. Uncharted 2 also won Best Story and Best Original Score, also categories Batman was nominated in. But Batman did win in the Gameplay category, and well, these are games after all.
Other noteworthy awards went to Little Big Planet on the PSP for Best Handheld Game, Left 4 Dead 2 for Multiplayer, and Flower for Artistic Achievement.
