War of Legends interview - Jagex's Adam Tuckwell and Christian Reshoeft

While many of us might sit in front of our PCs and consoles installing and playing the latest game titles in that traditional fashion, it's easy to forget that the growth of the Internet and, more specifically, Internet browser and plug-in capabilities has seen a boom in the number, complexity and availability of browser-based online games, be they fun little Adobe Flash-based distractions to while away your lunch hour through to huge, sprawling multi-player offerings.

Amongst those leading the charge in the latter of those categories since 2001 has been Jagex Game Studios, a UK-based developer specialising in browser-based games which make use of Java, most notably the hugely successful RuneScape MMO which now boasts approximately 165 million users.

However, today marks the launch of a brand-new online, browser-based title from Jagex, and this particular launch also marks a move into some brave new directions for the company as it looks to assert its place in this particular market.  We'll be talking more about just what these new directions are in due course, as we discuss both Jagex's history and their latest venture, named War of Legends, with the company's PR Manager Adam Tuckwell and the War of Legends Product Manager Christian Reshoeft, who kindly took some time out of their busy schedules to speak to us here at Elite Bastards.  So, read on to find out more about both Jagex themselves and what today's game launch is all about.
