Prey Demo gameplay graphics performanceTo say that Prey has been a long time in coming would be putting it mildly. To put things into perspective, I think I only need to say one thing - The first time Prey was showcased at E3, it was running on 3Dfx Voodoo hardware. Of course, much has changed since development work started on this title all the way back in 1996. Yes, that's right, ten years have passed since the Prey we now know came to fruition. Initially the fruit of 3DRealms' labs (Of Duke Nukem forever fame, which tells you a lot of what you need to know about the delays), they abandoned the project a couple of years later, only to announce last year that it had been resurrected, this time with Human Head Studios at the development helm. This time, things went much smoother, and we now have the game in its final, ready to be released, form. It goes without saying that the game engine is entirely different from the mid-to-late nineties days, so today we'll be taking a look at how the demo of this game, released in the middle of last week, shapes up on a variety of currently available graphics hardware. Read on to find out more about the game engine and its performance across various GPUs.
