Eagletech ET-CS2XMESU2-BK 2.5" hard disk enclosure review

After many, many years of dominance, it could be argued that the 3.5" hard disk format factor is going to diminish in relevance over the coming years.  On the one hand, you have 2.5" traditional hard drives increasing in both capacity and performance (witness Western Digital's Velociraptor for evidence of the latter), while on the other you have the rise of the Solid State Drive which almost without exception only requires a smaller 2.5" form factor to fit its required memory chips into.

The move to 2.5" storage also makes sense when it comes to external drives - More often than not, fantastic performance isn't a huge concern with such enclosures, whereas portability quite possibly is.  With this in mind, today we're taking a look at a 2.5" hard disk enclosure from Eagletech, representing their latest design and featuring both USB 2.0 and eSATA connectivity.  Is it worthy of consideration for anyone looking to add some external storage to their system?  Let's take a look and see for ourselves.
