HIS Radeon HD 4850 IceQ 4 TurboX 512MB video card review

Just before Christmas, we took a look at HIS' turbo-charged Radeon HD 4870 1GB part, which ramped up performance over a reference board as well as kitting out the board with a custom cooling solution (which I have to confess disappointed us somewhat with its noise levels).

Today, we get to take a look at another part from HIS in a similar vein, this time focusing on the Radeon HD 4850.  HIS' IceQ range based around this SKU comes in three flavours, the first of which offers up reference clock speeds coupled with the company's own dual-slot cooling solution, while the second uses the same custom cooler but also ramps up clock speeds somewhat.

Speed demons that we are however, the subject of this review is the Radeon HD 4850 IceQ TurboX 512MB, which boosts both core and memory clocks further still to make for one of the fastest Radeon HD 4850 parts on the market.  Sound tempting?  Of course it does, so let's crack on with the review!
