ATI Catalyst 8.3 driver feature analysis

While the posting of the latest monthly graphics driver from ATI is always looked forward to by most in the community (particularly if you own an ATI graphics board, naturally), just occasionally such releases generate even more fervour and excitement than usual.

The release of ATI's March driver posting, Catalyst 8.3, is just such an example of this, with its primary additions feted ever since the launch of the high-end Radeon HD 3870 X2 a couple of months ago.  Most of you reading this will probably already know a fair amount about the CrossFireX multi-GPU technology which serves as the major highlight of Catalyst 8.3, but there's more to this driver than just that alone.  Thus, in this article we'll take a look over just what Catalyst 8.3 is promising to bring to the table, to see if all that excitement is really worthwhile.
