XFX GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition review
Now that NVIDIA's new G92 architecture has been showing its colours in the form of the GeForce 8800 GT for a little while now, there isn't a great deal to say that you don't already know - While availability of these parts continues to disappoint (although it does appear to be improving), there can be little doubt that the GeForce 8800 GT offers absolutely top notch performance for such a low price, exactly the kind of showing loved by both consumers and reviewers alike.
Another sure-fire part of any NVIDIA product launch these days is the slew of factory overclocked boards of varying degrees that follow, with one of the most prominent masters of the overclocked part being XFX. It is just such a board we're looking at today, which can only be referred to as an interesting part with an 'interesting' name - The GeForce 8800 GT 512MB Alpha Dog XXX Edition. I have no idea who chooses these names, but they're certainly unique.... Of course, the question is, can this board claim a similarly unique place in the hearts of gamers? We investigate right here and now, so read on if you want to know whether the Alpha Dog is a pedigree animal, or merely a mongrel.
